North Melbourne football manager Todd Viney has “no idea” when Alastair Clarkson will return to the club.
Viney said Clarkson needed to get himself right mentally and there was no expectation or set date for any return.
“He needs to get away and he needs time by himself and his family,” Viney told Fox Footy
“We just want him to get better and have no idea who long that will be.”
Viney said the Kangaroos players were resilient and had faced many battles in recent seasons while interim coach Brett Ratten was fully prepared to step into the role.
“I’m going fine. It was a shock early in the week and it was really sad to see a good friend of mine struggling,” Viney told Fox Footy.
“I’m fine. The boys are fine and we are ready to put in a good performance today.
“We are really lucky to have Brett Ratten, he has coached under Clarko as well so a lot of the philosophy stuff is pretty organised.”
